✨ TOOL: RESOURCING
A neuroscience-backed practice to shift your mental state in moments of stress.

Did you know that your brain can only focus on one experience at a time? That means that you can consciously redirect your attention toward something that brings you peace, comfort, or joy—anytime, anywhere.

This simple truth is the key to resourcing: intentionally choosing to focus on a soothing or uplifting memory, person, place, or idea.

🌿 HOW TO RESOURCE
Practice this daily to strengthen your inner resilience.

  1. Call it In: Bring to mind a person, place, thing, or idea that brings you deep peace, comfort, or joy. It can be real or imagined.

  2. Feel it Fully: Just thinking of this resource should begin to shift your mood. Let yourself feel that uplift.

  3. Scan Your Body: What physical sensations arise? Warmth in the chest, a tingle in the spine, softness in the face?

  4. Make it Real: Picture the scene with full sensory detail.

    • Is it sunny or overcast?

    • What do you smell in the air?

    • What colors and textures do you see?

  5. Amplify It: Intensify the image in your mind. Let it feel real in your body, as though you’re there now.

  6. Anchor It: Let this become a "mental safe space" you can visit any time you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or ungrounded.

🌟 BONUS TIP: Practice resourcing during calm moments too—not just when you're stressed. This strengthens the neural pathways of peace.
